How Can I Backup My Website

To create site/database backups

Go to CPanel > Files > Backups

Choose the type of backup you require:-

Full Backup - A full backup creates an archive of all of your website’s files and configuration. You can use this file to move your account to another server or to keep a local copy of your files.

Partial Backup - backup your Home directory

MySQL Database Backup - backup your databases (particularly useful for WordPress, etc).

1. Download a Full Website Backup

Click on the Download a Full Website Backup button under Full Backup
Choose where the backup will go (Home Directory(best option) or Remote Server)
If you wish to be informed when the backup is complete leave the email address as default or enter a new one if required.
If you do not wish to be informed when the backup is complete check the "Do not send email..." option.

Click Generate Backup

2. Download a Home Directory Backup

Under Partial Backups > Download a Home Directory Backup - click Download
Choose Save File and tell CPanel where you wish to save the file - the backup is generated on the fly and saved to your chosen location.

3. Download a MySQL Database Backup

Under Partial Backups > Download a MySQL Database Backup > Databases -  click on the database you wish to backup
Choose Save File and tell CPanel where you wish to save the file - the backup is generated on the fly and saved to your chosen location.

Note: there is also a Video Tutorial available on the CPanel Backups page.
